Optics and Photonics Group

The Optics and Photonics research group is one of the leading groups in advanced solid state laser research and precision laser sensing in Australasia. Our academic staff has over 70 years of combined research experience in the field. Our graduates are employed in excellent and rewarding positions worldwide. We enjoy close research interactions with groups in Australia and internationally in topics ranging from fundamental physics to industrial applications. The broad range of research topics include:

The optics and photonics group and research area at the University of Adelaide was founded in 1990 and has been growing ever since. So far 19 PhD students and numerous honours and masters students have graduated from our group.
